The University of Portland has announced the 2008 men's and women's soccer schedules. A total of 20 home matches are on the docket for next season, including top-caliber national opponents. Season tickets will go on sale Monday, May 19 at 11 a.m. through the Pilot Box Office, either in-person or by calling (503) 943-7525. Stadium chairs and sideline bench backs are already sold out, but end zone bench back seating is $148 and GA season tickets are $108.
Kilburg, Moore Set for 10,000-meter Olympic Trials
University of Portland graduated seniors Michael Kilburg and John Moore will both be participating in the 2008 United States Olympic Track & Field Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. this week. Both runners qualified for the meet by virtue of being among the top 24 in the country based on times posted during the 2007-08 track seasons. The event is scheduled for Friday, July 4 at 9:20 p.m.
The University of Portland women’s cross country program has signed eight incoming runners to comprise its 2008 recruiting class, head coach Ian Solof announced. Solof and the Pilots have won the West Coast Conference championship six straight years and are coming off of a seventh place finish at the 2007 NCAA West Regional. Solof anticipates that this may be his best recruiting class ever and hopes that the talent will help push the team to its highest competitive level in school history.
The University of Portland men's basketball team has been getting up early and working hard with Director of Athletic Performance, Brad Scott. The team has been doing daily voluntary morning workouts with Coach Scott that range from agility/quickness drills, sprints, weight training, and even some unique tire drills.

Keelin Winters was a little under the radar when she began her freshman year at Portland, but appeared in 21 games in 2007 and has become a mainstay with the U-20 Women’s National Team.
