PORTLAND, Ore. --- Jarrett Foote (Woodinville, Wash./Woodinville HS) and Daniel Snoey (Camas, Wash./Camas HS) have committed to the University of Portland men’s golf program, announced head coach Bill Winter. Both Foote and Snoey have signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Pilots as freshmen next fall.
“Both Jarrett and Daniel will have a great opportunity to contribute right away and I look forward to having them join the program,” said Winter. “They have demonstrated a high level of play on the high school and junior circuits, while excelling in the classroom. They will add depth to our team and should have an immediate impact as freshmen and they are both tremendous student-athletes who will make the University proud.”
Jarrett Foote is a four-year letterwinner at Woodinville High School who has earned All-KingCo 4A First Team honors all four years on varsity. This fall, Foote won the KingCo 4A District Tournament by seven strokes by firing a 139 (71-68) at the 36-hole event. Foote, who has been the KingCo Crown and KingCo League MVP, previously finished second three times at the district championships. He also helped the Falcons win three league titles, two district championships, two regular season crowns and claim second place at the Washington 4A State Tournament in 2008. A two-time team MVP, Foote once fired a five-under par 30 during a match at Overlake Country Club.
Daniel Snoey is a senior at Camas High School and is the reigning Washington 3A High School State Champion after claiming medalist honors last spring. His individual state title helped his Papermakers finish second in the state. Snoey, who won the district championship as a sophomore, is the reigning three-time Greater St. Helens League 3A Player of the Year and he’s landed on the all-league first team twice. A member of the Polish Men’s and Junior National Teams and the Hogan Cup, Snoey has claimed numerous tournament titles throughout the region and has competed in several international events. His resume includes individual titles at the OGA Tournament of Champions, the Prairie Invite twice, the Thunder Invite, the Peter Jacobsen Junior, the Seattle Junior Open, the Triple Eagle Junior, the Portland Junior and the Ilwaco Invitational. With his Polish National Team, Snoey won both the European Boys and the European Men’s Championships. He once shot a 65 at Camas Meadows Golf Club and he was named The Columbian’s 2009 Regional Player of the Year.
