PORTLAND, Ore. – Senior Megan Sporndli posted a perfect match as the Portland Pilots women’s tennis team went on to sweep cross-town rivals the Portland State Vikings, 6-0, Friday afternoon in Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.
"It was a solid team effort for the Pilots,” said head coach Susie Campbell-Gross.
Portland improves to 3-5 on the season (0-1, West Coast Conference) while PSU drops to 1-8 (0-3 Big Sky).
The Pilots will enjoy a week-long reprieve before battling WCC foe San Francisco in their opening match of the USD Invitational on Thursday, Mar. 11 in San Diego, Calif.
