Pilots Tune-up at West Coast Invitational
  
SALEM, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men’s and women’s track and field teams posted five top marks on Saturday while competing at the West Coast Invitational at Charles Bowles Track.
 
Three of the top marks came from field events, with Jonathan Sandau (34.18m) finishing atop the discus event. Portland swept the top spots in the triple jump events as Matt Chastain (13.48m) topped the men’s side and Katherine Maus (11.23m) topped the women’s side.
 
In the 200m race, Mark Roetcisoender finished with a time of 22.02 to claim the top spot. Roetcisoender also placed second in the 100m with a time of 10.94, finishing 0.01 seconds behind Kevin Carpenter.
 
Jared Bassett (3:45.46) and Scott Fauble (3:45.94) finished first and third, respectively, in the 1500m event.
