Trio Earns All-Academic Honors
WCC Releases: Men's I Women's
PORTLAND, Ore. --- Senior women’s tennis players Sabine Fuchs and Valeska Hoath earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors on Tuesday as the WCC announced its annual academic awards prior to the start of the WCC Championships.
Junior Michel Hu Kwo joined the duo, representing the Pilots on the men’s side.
It is the third straight year that both Fuchs and Hoath earned a spot on the WCC All-Academic team, which requires that a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a significant contributor to their team.
All three Pilots certainly meet the qualifications. Both organizational communications majors, Fuchs (3.79 GPA) and Hoath (3.86 GPA) have both been critical players for the Pilots this season as has Hu Kwo, who owns a 3.74 GPA as an accounting major.
Hu Kwo owns 12 wins this year, while Fuchs and Hoath have both posted 10.
The WCC Championships begin on Wednesday, April 24, with the eighth seeded women’s team taking on the fifth seeded San Francisco Dons at 9:30 a.m.
The seventh seeded men’s team play the sixth seeded Saint Mary’s Gaels later in the day, with the match slated for a 12:30 p.m. start time.
