University of Portland redshirt junior Cori Moore finished with the 10th best time and missed the finals by just 0.72 seconds in Friday’s 800-meter preliminary race at the 2010 NCAA Track and Field Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The University of Portland has one of the strongest traditions in collegiate soccer with one of the finest soccer playing fields in Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex. The school is doing its part to maintain that reputation by resurfacing the field this spring. CORVALLIS, Ore. --- Rain has wiped out the first day of the Oregon State Spring Tournament, meaning Portland’s scheduled baseball game against Utah on Friday afternoon at Goss Stadium has been moved to Saturday. University of Portland head coach Eric Reveno has been named one of 15 finalists for the 2010 Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award, presented annually by CollegeInsider.com. The award was established last year to honor recipients who not only achieve success on the basketball court but who display moral integrity off of it as well. The Pilots (9-2), who have matched the program’s best start to a season since at least 1955, heads to Corvallis, Ore., this week for the OSU Spring Tournament at Goss Stadium. The Pilots open play at the tourney against the Utah Utes (6-5) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The NCAA Division I Track and Field Committee announced on Monday the participants in the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships and Portland redshirt junior Cori Moore will represent the Pilots in the women’s 800-meters.
