1992: Signed as a free agent with the Oakland A’s.
1991: Batted .411 (.452 in conference) and became only the second player in Pac-10 history to hit over .400 in consecutive seasons (.407 in 1990)… 39th-highest batting average in the nation… all-Pac-10 Northern Division first team for the second consecutive year…. Pac-10 all-Academic first team… played left field, .909 fielding average… team rakings include second in batting average, sixth in at-bats (146), third in runs (35), third in hits (60), fourth in RBI (28), third in home runs (4) first in walks (22), third slugging average (.555) and the second on on-base average (.488)… homered vs. Portland State, Washington State (2) and Oregon State… 18 multiple hot games… nine three-hit games… 3-for-4 and homered in a 6-3 win at Portland State… 3-for-4, for RBI and a home run in a 12-7 win at Washington State… will enter the 1992 season third on the school’s career hit list (193), fourth in career doubles (34), fourth n career extra0base hits, fifth in career runs (102) and third in career total bases.
1990: All-America third team and all-Region 7 first team, named by the American Baseball Association… all-Pac-10 Northern Division… toured Holland in summer 1990 with a conference all-star team… Portland’s best hitter award for the second consecutive year… batted .407, the 32nd player in Pac-10 history and second pilot to attain the .400 mark… conference rankings include seventh in hits (72), second in on-base average (.537, school record), seventh in RBI (48), third in home runs (9)… three 4-for-4 games… 5-for-5 vs. George Fox… six RBI vs. Concordia… two home runs vs. Eastern Oregon.
1989: Portland’s Best Hitter Award… team rankings included second in batting average (.311) and the first in RBI (41)… conference rankings included fourth in RBI, ninth in hits (61)… three hits and two RBI ninth in the Northern Division Tournament championship game vs. Portland State… sacrifice fly vs. Notre Dame in the NCAA West II Regional.
Hudson’s Bay High School: Three baseball letters, two basketball… first team all-state as a senior, .455 batting average… 1988 21st-round draft pick of the Cleveland Indians… won three American Legion state championships with the Vancouver Cardinals, second at the 1987 World Series, 14 World Series, 14 home runs in ’88.
