• Won the 2002 NCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship to claim the school’s first national title at the NCAA DI level.
• The Pilots, featuring then-freshman Christine Sinclair, capped a cinderella season by defeating conference foe Santa Clara 2-1 in the national title game in double overtime in Austin, Texas.
• The title game was the final match ever coached by legendary coach and UP Hall of Fame member Clive Charles.
• Tied a then-school record with 20 overall wins (20-4-2)
• Sinclair led the nation with 26 goals en route to claiming the Honda Award (best collegiate player in the country) and the WCC’s Player of the Year.
• Sinclair, defender Lauren Orlandos and midfielder Lindsey Huie were all named to various All-America lists, while Huie was also tabbed as the WCC Freshman of the Year.
