PILOTS TO HONOR 2000 OLYMPIANS OCT. 7
ceremony will be prior to Portland women vs. Pilot Alumni match
PORTLAND -- The University of Portlands five soccer Olympians will be honored Saturday afternoon, Oct. 7 in a pregame ceremony prior to a Portland vs. Pilot Alumni womens soccer game.
Tiffeny Milbrett, Shannon MacMillan and Michelle French of the 2000 silver medal-winning U.S. womens soccer team, as well as Conor Casey and head coach Clive Charles of the U.S. mens team will be feted before Saturdays exhibition contest.

Charles directed Casey and the mens Olympic team to the semifinals of the tournament - the highest ever finish attained by a U.S. mens soccer team in Olympic competition.
Milbrett and MacMillan were starters for the U.S. womens team at the Olympic games, while French was a late replacement to the team.
After the ceremony, the Pilot women will face former Pilot favorites including Tracy Osborn (1991-94), Joy Boswell (1990-93), Cindy Griffith (1989, 91-93), Tammy Martindale (1991-94), Nicole Pfeifer (1993-96), Melissa Ribaudo (1994-97), Wynne McIntosh (1994-97), Maria Schierman (1994-97), Angela Harrison (1996-99), Erin Fahey (1991-93, 95), Justi Baumgardt (1993, 95-97), Christina Harsaghy (1990-92), and Sarah Charles (1994-97).
Counting current Pilots Vanessa Talbott and Cheryl Loveless, the game will feature seven of the top 10 all-time Portland scorers, and three of the top six all-time goalkeepers.
All told, the collection of Alumni earned 29 all-West Coast Conference awards, 36 all-American awards, four national Player of the Year awards, five WCC Player of the Year awards, and seven NCAA all-Tournament team awards.
