Portland lost to Gonzaga 3-1 on Saturday. The Bulldogs (6-11, 3-4) won three straight games to close out the victory over the Pilots (4-12, 1-6). The Pilots drop to 4-12 overall and 1-6 in West Coast Conference play, while the Bulldogs improve to 6-11 overall and 3-4 in West Coast Conference matches.
The Pilots won the first game of the match 30-22 behind a match high 20 total kills. Heather Dennison led the team with 8 of those kills; she had 13 total for the match.
Gonzaga won the final three games with the play of Zuzana Tumova who led the Bulldogs with 16 kills, 15 digs and 3 block assists. The Bulldogs took the second game by a score of 30-21.
In the third game the Bulldogs were able to hold off the Pilots long enough to pull out the win. The final game came down to the Bulldogs holding off a late rally by the Pilots, who came back from a 28-20 deficit only to fall by the final score of 30-26.
