Portland lost to the Pepperdine Waves in three straight games 19-30, 20-30, 23-30. The Pilots fell to 4-13 overall and 1-7 in West Coast Conference play.

The 12th ranked Waves improved to 14-3 overall and 8-0 in West Coast Conference action.

The Waves were led by junior Stacy Rouwenhorst and freshman Brie Harris who each had 14 kills. Rouwenhorst also had 5 digs and 3 solo blocks. Harris recorded 7 digs and 2 aces.

Portland was led by senior outside hitter Bridget DeChant who had 8 kills for the Pilots. Sophomore setter Sara Engstrom recorded 15 assists and 6 digs for Portland.

The Pilots will continue their road trip at 7 p.m. Saturday at Loyola Marymount.
