Los Angeles, Calif. - The Portland Pilots lost to the Loyola Marymount Lions 3-0. The Lions won the first two games by identical scores of 30-22.
The Pilots made a strong effort in the third game, but fell short losing 31-29. The game was tied 20 times with neither team taking more than a two point lead until the end of the game.
The Pilots fall to 4-14 overall and 1-8 in West Coast Conference play. The Lions improve to 12-7 overall and 6-3 in West Coast Conference action.
The Lions were led by sophomore Kealani Kimball who had a team-high 15 kills and 11 digs.
The Pilots were led by senior outside hitter Bridget DeChant who led the team in kills with 14 and in digs with 13.
The Pilots return home next week to play a make up match with Portland State as well as matches against Santa Clara and San Francisco.
