The Portland Pilots lost to the Saint Mary's Gaels in three straight games. The Gaels won the first game 30-14, the second game 30-22 and the third game 30-20. The win was the first in West Coast Conference play for the Gaels, they are now 1-10 overall and 4-18 overall. The Pilots fall to 2-10 in West Coast Conference action and 6-16 overall.
The Pilots were led by senior Bridget Beschen who had 7 kills and 9 digs, both of which were team highs for Portland.
The Pilots were held to a .017 attack percentage, while the Gaels finished with a .306 percentage as a team.
Rachel Avilla led the Gaels with 10 kills and finished with a .259 attack percentage. Setter Brooke Lowry led both teams with 33 assists and 17 digs. Carla Jo Vandenbark had 9 kills and a .529 hitting percentage.
The Pilots return to action Saturday night as they travel to San Diego to take on the San Diego Toreros at 7:00 p.m.
