The Portland Pilots lost to 10th ranked Colorado State in a three game sweep. The Rams won the match: 30-16, 30-20, 30-18. It was senior night at the Chiles Center where five Pilot seniors were honored in a pregame ceremony.
Portland native Angela Knopf led the Rams with nine kills on 14 attempts, with a .571 attack percentage. Knopf also had three aces and broke the Ram career record for aces in the third game of the match. Sorayo Santos had 13 kills and five assists for Colorado State.
All five of the Pilot seniors started the match, with senior Kristen Edwards leading the Pilots with seven kills on the night with a .400 attack percentage. Sophomore setter Sara Engstrom had two aces for the Pilots as well as 10 assists. Junior Carlie Price had 11 digs for the Pilots.
The Pilots finish their season with a record of 6-20 overall with a 2-12 record in the West Coast Conference. The Colorado State Rams, of the Mountain West Conference, improve to 26-3 overall.
