Sarah Walter tied for 7th place Tuesday in the final day of the Pioneer Highlands Ranch Intercollegiate tournament hosted by Denver. The Pilots shaved nine strokes off their first-round total, but couldn't move up in the standings, finishing 11th.
After an opening-round 76, Walter shot a 73 Tuesday to finish at 149, just four strokes out of second, and with the fifth-best 36-hole total in program history. Kelly Schaub of Denver was the individual medalist at 138 (67-71).
Denver also won the team trophy with a 599. Portland was four strokes out of 10th, and just five short of ninth place.
Also for Portland, Megan Radonich tied for 17th (76-76-152), Cecily Quinajon tied for 39th (79-78-157), Stephanie Nado tied for 71st (87-81-168), and Lisa Schwinden tied for 76th (86-89-175).
