The Pilots (6-2) tallied a goal in each half on the way to their sixth straight win, beating UC Irvine 2-0 in the Nike Husky Invitational in Seattle.

In the 10th minute of the game, Lindsey Huie served a corner kick into the box that was flicked off the head of UP teammate Lauren Orlandos to Betsy Barr who headed it in from three yards out for her first goal of the season.

Sophomore Christine Sinclair scored her team-leading seventh goal on a penalty kick at 75:26 after teammate Wanda Rozwadowska was fouled inside the box.

Lauren Arase posted the shutout while saving three shots. Sarah Swancutt and Chelsea McCarthy each played one half and combined for nine

saves for Irvine which was outshot 26-7.

Portland faces Harvard Sunday at 11 a.m. to conclude the Husky Nike Invitational.
