Rob Seffens homered twice and drove in three runs Friday, leading Portland to a 9-5 win over Brigham Young at the Banana Belt tournament.
Portland improved to 3-5 with the win, its third straight after opening the season with five straight losses.
After spotting BYU a 4-0 lead in the first inning, the Pilots got back into the game with two runs in the second and two more in the third.
Joe Watson clubbed a two-run homer in the second after Justin Pierce singled with two outs. In the third, Seffens singled and scored on a Brock Griffin singled, then Travis Vetters drove in Kory Casto with a single.
A four-run sixth inning pushed Portland to an 8-5 lead, highlighted by a two-run Seffens blast. Andrew Wrisley tripled and scored on an error, then Seffens clubbed his first homer of the game to score Trevor Hahn.
After a walk and a BYU error, Vetters laid down a sacrifice bunt to score Casto.
Seffens closed out his power day with a solo home run in the eighth.
Andrew Renyer improved to 2-1, scrambling through six innings with seven strikeouts. Joe Jones tossed three innings of shutout relief.
