PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland fans unable to make the trek down to College Station this weekend can still join in the game-day excitement as the University of Portland will host a viewing party of the Pilots’ semifinal match against fellow No. 1 seed and unbeaten Penn State on Friday. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and will be shown on a large projection screen inside the Chiles Center. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and a 2005 Pilot highlight video will precede the 1:30 p.m. (PST) kickoff.
Admission to the viewing party is free and concessions will be available.
This is the Pilots’ eighth trip overall to the College Cup and its first visit since winning the 2002 National Championship. Portland advanced to the semifinal with wins over Iowa State (5-0), Nebraska (3-2), Arizona (4-0) and Notre Dame (3-1).
