The University of Portland men’s tennis team (13-4, 3-0 WCC) won its 13th game of the 2005 season with a 5-2 victory over UC Davis (3-11, 0-3 Big West) on Saturday afternoon.
Matthew Loucks and James Redpath, playing in the No. 1 doubles position, recorded their 13th victory of the season with an 8-4 win over the Aggies’ Michael Chin and Justin Garcia. Portland’s Roman Borvanov and Alex Strom, playing together as a doubles pair for the first time this season, won 8-5 in the No. 3 position.
James Redpath won his team-leading 15th singles match of the season, besting Jordan Combs in the No. 3 position. Loucks, Borvanov, and Strom also were victorious in singles for the Pilots.
Portland’s three-match road swing will end tomorrow at Sacramento State (8-7, 3-1 Big Sky), where the Pilots will take on the Hornets at 10:00 a.m. at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.
