Sophomore Molly Edmunds leads the Pilots with a 13th place finish and earns honorable mention All-WCC honors

COPPEROPOLIS, Calif. -- The University of Portland women’s golf team finished its 2006 campaign with a fifth-place finish at the West Coast Conference Golf Championships played at Saddle Creek Golf Course. Sophomore Molly Edmunds carded a 239 for Portland and finished 13th individually to earn honorable mention All-WCC honors.

Pepperdine entered the final round with a commanding 27-stroke lead and cruised to the conference title with a score of 899. San Francisco (924), Santa Clara (952), Gonzaga (973) and Portland (984).

Pepperdine’s Jayvie Agojo earned medalist honors with a 5-over par 221 and was joined in the top five by three other teammates.

Pilot junior Ashley Williams tied for 15th overall at 247, sophomore Kristin Howell tied for 18th at 249, junior Melanie Lee was 23rd at 254 and freshman Taryn Kuida rounded out the UP contingent in 24th place with a 256.
