SEATTLE, Wash. --- The University of Portland women’s track team kicked off the indoor season Saturday, competing at the University of Washington Indoor Preview meet.
Several Pilots were in action at the meet, as were athletes from several West Coast schools, including Washington, Stanford and Portland State.

Freshman Cori Moore placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.08, while junior Allison Ritchie (pictured) led seven Pilots in the 3000 meter run, finishing 10th with a time of 10:33. Janel Sislow (12th), Jackie Dargitz (16th), Megan Smith (18th), Nora Panitz (20th) and Megan Colvin (26th) also ran in the event.
The ‘A’ Distance Medley team of Kristen Rohde, Cori Moore, Natalie Hemphill and Sifrash Ademe placed third, clocking in with a time of 12:03 and finishing behind only Stanford and Seattle Pacific. The ‘B’ team of Adrienne Nova, Krista Roumeliotis, Michelle Schubert and Claire Guiliano finished sixth with a time of 13:08, ahead of the ‘A’ teams from St. Martin’s and Seattle University.
Next up for the women’s track team is University of Washington Invitational, which will take place on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 in Seattle.
