BELMONT, Calif. --- Sophomore Dana Morgan won the West Coast Conference individual title and led the University of Portland to its sixth consecutive team championship on Saturday at Crystal Springs Course. The Pilots have now won 11 of the last 12 conference titles.
Morgan posted a time of 20:32 at the 6K course to beat out runner-up and defending WCC champion Laura Mickelson of Loyola Marymount by 24 seconds.
A total of four Pilots earned top 10 finishes as Portland's team score of 33 held off San Francisco (43) and Loyola Marymount (68).
Junior Sifrash Ademe placed third (21:17), senior Bobeya Krishnek was seventh (21:40) and freshman Paige Pattillo finished ninth (21:49) for the Pilots.
Head coach Ian Solof claimed his second consecutive WCC Coach of the Year Award.
The Pilots will now focus on the upcoming NCAA West Regional, hosted by the University of Oregon at Springfield Country Club on Nov. 10.
