PORTLAND, Ore. --- About 400 people attended the University of Portland's 2007 Diamond Dinner at the Downtown Hilton on Saturday night. Baseball Hall of Fame member and former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers Tommy Lasorda was the featured speaker.
The event included dinner and an auction. Former Pilots' outfielder/infielder Matthew Peters was recognized as UP's 2006 Most Valuable Player, while pitcher Joe Jones was named Most Inspirational.
