CLARKSTON, Wash. --- Portland junior Molly Edmunds carded a 159 (83-76), while freshman Agatha Brzezinski shot a 161 (84-77) to finish tied for fourth and seventh, respectively, at the ninth annual Inland Cup. The Inland Cup is a 36-hole tournament and is non-team scoring.
The first round took place at Clarkston Country Club on Monday, Feb. 26, while the second and final round was on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Quail Ridge Golf Club.
Idaho’s Cassie Castleman edged Jessica Black from Washington State on the second playoff hole to capture top honors among women competitors. Both golfers finished the 36-hole tournament with scores of 139.
In the men’s division, Cory Renfrew from the University of British Columbia and Stephen Lane from the University of Victory tied for top honors with scores of 139, one better than WSU’s Chris Collins. Renfrew took home the top trophy by virtue of a scorecard tiebreaker.
Collins recorded the top score of the final round among the men with a 65, while on the women’s site Black carded a 74 to top the 15 golfers.
The Pilots next take the course at the Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Golf Club in Flagstaff, Ariz. The two-day event begins Saturday and ends on Sunday.
