EUGENE, Ore. --- The University of Portland women’s track team had a successful day at the Oregon Preview outdoor meet on March 17, in which several Pilots saw their first outdoor action of the season.

Nine Pilots ran in the 3000 meters, headed by freshman Dana Morgan’s (pictured) fourth place finish with a time of 9:46.71. Morgan’s time puts her at No. 6 on Portland’s all-time outdoor marks. Amie Dahnke (9:54.07) followed Morgan with a strong fifth place finish and Bobeya Krishnek (10:05.48), running unattached, placed seventh. Sifrash Ademe (8th, 10:06.28), Kristen Rohde (10th, 10:13.27), Adrienne Nova (11th, 10:14.94), Allison Ritchie (14th, 10:24.28), Janel Sislow (18th, 10:34.62) and Kendel Nelson (22nd, 10:45.10) also ran in the event.
Freshman Cori Moore finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14 flat, placing her seventh all-time in the UP outdoor history books.
Freshman Natalie Hemphill ran a 4:39.30 in the 1500 meters to finish ninth in the “A” heat, while freshman Megan Smith won the “B” heat with a time of 4:40.87. Jackie Dargitz also ran in the 1500, finishing with a time of 5:04.48.
Two Pilots raced in the 400 meter dash, with Krista Roumeliotis finishing 12th and clocking in at 1:01.55 and Janelle Meisenheimer placing 15th with a time of 1:03.48.
Sprinter Tiffany Spaulding raced in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes, finishing 11th in the 100 with a time of 12.90 and 13th in the 200 with a time of 26.97.
Next up on the Pilot track schedule is the Stanford Invitational on March 30-31.
