Here is Greg’s first entry as he prepares to make a long, but well-worth it, flight…

Alright everybody,
So here is the first of my communique on this journey of a life time. I am sitting here the night before we take off feeling, well, honestly I don't really know how I feel. I don't know if there is word to describe the mixture of incredible excitement, nervousness, and a little bit of doubt that this whole thing is even going to take place.
One thing is for sure, I have never had so many people in such a short amount of time tell me that they are jealous of me and/or hate me. I suppose it one of the greatest compliments, though, so I think I enjoy it.
It also blows my mind that I about to spend an entire day in the air flying to the complete opposite side of the globe. I was talking with Taylor (travel companion) earlier, and we both sat in awe at the thought that the stars we will see above us in South Africa, we have never seen before period.
Well, I should probably try to calm myself down and work on gettin some sleep tonight (not that I should be short changed on the flight), and can't wait to talk to you from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Greg
