• Portland continues its outdoor season with a pair of challenging meets this weekend, participating at the Mt Sac Relays and Oregon Relays.
• Three Pilots came away with the best marks at last week’s John Knight Twilight.
• Kiyah Williams took the top spot in the 400m hurdles (1:04.05) while Kahlil Dumas (23.45 - 200m) and Matt Winterer (1.93m - High Jump) posted top marks on the men’s side.
• Six Pilots posted personal bests two weekends ago at the prestigious Stanford Invitational.
• Laura Hottenrott-Freitag (16:51.58) topped her previous best in the 5000m race, placing fourth.
• All five male racers recorded new personal bests in the 5000m run as well, paced by David Perry’s 13:58.01. Jared Bassett (14:05.98), Scott Fauble (14:00.35), Cody Wells (14:21.64), and Woody Kincaid (14:22.96) also recorded new PRs.
• Julia Fonk clocked a new personal record in the 1500m race, finishing first with a time of 4:36.15.
For the Record...
• Emma Fredere shattered her previous school record in the Hammer Throw at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open with a mark of 39.70m.
• Portland had a busy indoor season as well, reordering the program’s top ten results.
• The women have set 13 new marks spanning the 800m, 3000m, 5000m, and mile events.
• This year’s women’s roster features seven of the top 10 marks in the 5000m, with two athletes appearing twice on the list.
• Jarred Basset ran a 8:05.36 for the second fastest 3000m indoor time in school history.
• The women’s side saw four athletes post new top ten times in the 5000m run at the UW Final Qualifier, led by Merel Van Steenbergen’s 17:04.87 (fourth best).
