• The Pilots head on the road for the final time during the regular season for West Coast Conference games this weekend at LMU and at San Diego.
• First on Friday, the Pilots will face the Lions at Sullivan Field at 7 p.m. in Los Angeles, Calif.
• Portland then heads south to play the San Diego Toreros at Torero Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE PILOTS...
• Freshman attacking midfielder Eddie Sanchez ranks third in the country in goals per game (0.79) and he's fifth nationally in points per game (1.79); he's eighth in total goals (11) and 12th in total points (25), while leading the WCC in all four categories.
• Sanchez registered a hat trick during a 4-1 win at Santa Clara on Oct. 20 becoming the first Pilot to score three goals in a game since 2003.
• Head coach and Director of Soccer Bill Irwin notched career win No. 100 on Oct. 11 when the Pilots defeated San Diego 2-1 at Merlo Field; Irwin is in his 11th year at the helm of the UP men's soccer program and he's in his 27th year overall on the Portland staff.
• The Pilots feature the most prolific offense in the WCC, leading the way with 29 goals and 81 points; Portland ranks 23rd nationally in goals per game (2.00) and is 27th in total goals.
• Ten different Pilots (Boggs, Caprio, Corbett, Escobar, Iwasaki, Liberator, Munger, Rhoads, Sanchez, Velasco) have combined to score Portland's 29 goals this season.
• Goalkeeper Jason Dodson nabbed WCC Player of the Week honors (Sept. 30) after making six saves during a 3-0 shutout at home over SMU on Sept. 29.
• Sophomore midfielder Jaime Velasco was named to the National Team of the Week (Sept. 23) by College Soccer News after a two-goal performance against Oregon State on Sept. 19.
• Michael Escobar was named the WCC's Player of the Week by College Sports Madness following his one-goal, three-assist performance (Sept. 13-15) during wins over Air Force and Seattle.
• Derek Boggs was named to the WCC Preseason All-Conference Team, while the Pilots were picked sixth in a tight vote by the league's head coaches.
• Portland has been to two College Cups (1988 & 1995) and has reached the NCAA Postseason 14 times.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
• LMU sits in first place in the WCC with 19 points and is out-scoring opponents 25-11; Adrien Perez has a team-best five goals, while Jon McFarlin has a league-high nine assists.
• San Diego is currently winless in the WCC with a 0-5-3 league mark; the Toreros have been out-scored 26-17.
• LMU topped the Pilots 2-1 in Portland on Oct. 13 while playing two-men down for most of the second half, while UP defeated San Diego 2-1 at Merlo Field on Oct. 11.
EDDIE WOULD GO

IMMEDIATE IMPACT
• Sanchez is part of a prolific freshman class for the Pilots, who have made an immediate impact this season.
• Forward Aaron Caprio has started all 16 matches this fall and he has one goal and four assists, which is tied for the team lead.
• Midfielder Matthew Coffey has 15 starts under his belt, and he's recorded three assists thus far.

• Assistant coach Rob Baarts' son Tyler is in his senior year as a defender with the Pilots, while Rob's nephew and Tyler's cousin Justin is a redshirt-senior goalkeeper.
• New to the Portland roster this year are freshmen twin brothers Conor and Rory Johnston, who came to The Bluff from Sonoma, Calif.
• Conor is a defender, while Rory plays in the midfield.
