Photo GalleryThe University of Portland Athletic Department inducted Roman Borvanov (Men's Tennis), Jim Dortch (Basketball/Baseball), Shannon MacMillan (Women's Soccer), Wally Panel (Basketball/Baseball) and the 2002 Women's Soccer Team into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday. The five inductees were honored at a banquet on in the Bauccio Commons on the University of Portland campus.

The University of Portland Athletic Hall of Fame was instituted in 1991 and now consists of 99 inductees. The last induction ceremony came during the summer of 2012.

Roman Borvanov - Men's Tennis (2002-05)• Joined the Pilots in the fall of 2002 and was named team MVP all three seasons.
• Named All-West Coast Conference First Team in singles in 2005 and honorable mention in 2004.
• Posted a 19-2 singles record as a senior in 2005 and won his final seven dual singles matches to conclude his career.
• Collected a total of 53 singles and 37 doubles wins in three years on The Bluff.
• Nine-year professional career on the ATP Tour.
• Achieved ATP tour rankings in singles of No. 200 and doubles of No. 182.
• He won nine ITF futures singles titles, had a 14-8 record in Davis Cup competition for his native country of Moldova.
• Played in qualifying events for three of the four Grand Slam tournaments.

• She once scored four goals while recording three assists in a game against Gonzaga and she still holds the program's match record with five assists, which also came against Gonzaga.

Wally Panel (deceased) - Basketball/Baseball (1956-59)• Helped lead team to NAIA post-season tournaments and Portland's first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 1959
• Helped lead the baseball team to the NCAA tournament in 1957 and 1958
 - hit a home run against USC in the 1958 NCAA district playoffs
• Pilots basketball team MVP in 1957 and was team's leading scorer that year at 13.9 points per game
• Catholic Digest Basketball All-America in 1957
• Signed with New York Yankees in 1959
• Six career triples, which is tied for 10th all-time in program history, and 35 stolen bases, which rank ninth all-time

2002 Women's Soccer Team• Won the 2002 NCAA Women's Soccer National Championship to claim the school's first national title at the NCAA DI level.
• The Pilots, featuring then-freshman Christine Sinclair, capped a cinderella season by defeating conference foe Santa Clara 2-1 in the national title game in double overtime in Austin, Texas.
• The title game was the final match ever coached by legendary coach and UP Hall of Fame member Clive Charles.
• Tied a then-school record with 20 overall wins (20-4-2)
• Sinclair led the nation with 26 goals en route to claiming the Honda Award (best collegiate player in the country) and the WCC's Player of the Year.
• Sinclair, defender Lauren Orlandos and midfielder Lindsey Huie were all named to various All-America lists, while Huie was also tabbed as the WCC Freshman of the Year.
