Against host Boise State, Utah Valley, Northwest Nazeren, and St. Martins, Thieleke finished first in the 400 meter with a time of 48.51 seconds and after a photo finish in the 200 meter his time of 21.83 put him in second place.
On the women's side, Maus placed second in the long jump and third in the 60 meter with a time of 7.97 seconds. Leek's time of 1:20.81 placed her in second in the 500 meter race.
"It was a great season opener for Korey, Katherine, and Madison," said assistant coach Chad Colwell. "Korey had never ran an indoor race before, let alone on a 200 meter banked track. So considering those factors, he had an impressive sprint double today."
The track and field teams will next be in action after winter break on January 17 at the University of Washington Preview.
