PORTLAND, Ore. --- Sara Zaragoza, a 6-4 post from Madrid, Spain, has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the University of Portland women's basketball program, announced head coach Cheryl Sorenson. Zaragoza will enter UP as a freshman this fall.
Â
"We are very excited to bring Sara into the Pilot family," Sorenson said. "She's a talented player who will add depth and experience to the roster. Standing at 6-4 she has the ability to play both inside and outside, and she's a great addition to the team."

Zaragoza has played in the Spanish Youth National Team program since 2011, and she most recently saw action with the Spanish U-20's. Her Spanish Youth National Teams claimed a gold medal at the European Championships in 2012, while she helped the U-20's claim a silver and the U-18's to a bronze. She's also played with the clubs Pozuelo  and Estudiantes, reaching two Final Fours of Madrid. Her club finished second in 2013 and third in 2014.
