Complete ResultsMADISON, Wisc. --- The Portland Pilots men's cross country team took 19th at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Friday morning. Jeff Thies was the first Pilot across the line completing the 8k course in 24:09.1 for a 48
th place finish.
 
This was the seventh year of the Wisconsin adidas Invitational which has been established as one of the most competitive races each season. 36 men's programs competed at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course this year, which included six of the top ten nationally ranked teams.
 
Behind Thies was Nick Hauger who placed 75
th with a time of 24:18.5 and Alex Dillard and Gabriel Haughey seemingly tied with a time of 24:30.4, but placed 110
th and 111
th, respectively. Keegan Symmes (24:33.8, 123
rd), Timo Goehler (24:53.7, 168
th), and Chris Enriquez (25:30.1, 218
th) rounded out the Portland finishers.
 
Portland finished just behind Florida State who held off the Pilots by just one point. Syracuse took the crown, followed by fellow West Coast Conference member BYU in second, and Michigan in third.
 
The Pilots will next be in action on Oct. 23 at the Beaver Classic in Corvallis, Ore. This will be the final meet before the WCC Championships on Oct. 31
