EUGENE, Ore. --- Portland sophomore center Sara Zaragoza scored a career-best 14 points, but the Oregon Ducks raced to a 93-52 win over the Pilots in a non-conference women's basketball game played on Saturday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena. Zaragoza shot 7-for-10 from the field to lead the Pilots.

But the afternoon belonged to the Ducks (8-0), who lead by 12 after the first quarter and by 16 points at the half en route to the win. Lexi Peterson scored 23 points to lead four Ducks in double figures, and Jillian Alleyne notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Junior Kaylie Van Loo added 11 points for the Pilots (2-8), who led early in the game following buckets from Van Loo and freshman Julie Spencer, who received her first career start. Portland hung around for most of the opening period and were within 10 points for much of the second quarter. Zaragoza connected on four of her first five shots and had eight points at the half.

Zaragoza opened the third quarter with a jumper, but the Ducks responded with a 12-4 run to push the lead to 22 points. Oregon never looked back as the Ducks were red hot from the field all game long, finishing with a shooting percentage of 56.5 percent. The Ducks were also 13 of 19 from behind the three-point arc.

Portland next returns home to host CSUN next Friday at the Chiles Center. Tip-off is early as the Pilots and Matadors are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
