PORTLAND, Ore. – Guard Rashad Jackson has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Portland men's basketball program, head coach Eric Reveno announced on Tuesday. A standout prep player from Bakersfield, Calif., Jackson played last season at the IMPACT Academy in Las Vegas.
Jackson (6-4, 180) scored more than 2,100 points during his four-year career at Garces Memorial High School, earning All-Southeast Yosemite League (SEYL) First Team honors each season. He was named the league MVP as a junior, was twice named All-CIF First Team (Division II) and averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds his senior year. Â Â
Jackson spent last season at IMPACT Academy, one of the top skills and basketball training academies in the West.
"It is very exciting to be able to add someone with Rashad's potential to an already strong class," Reveno said. "He has a proven ability to score and tremendous defensive potential given his athleticism and instincts."Â

Jackson joins Palm Beach State forward Jarrel Marshall as spring signees with the Pilots and is one of five players in Portland's 2015 recruiting class. Reveno is excited about adding one more piece to the puzzle.
"Now, the final piece to this class will be a strong post player," Reveno noted. "While we feel we have a few players who can move between both forward positions giving us some exciting versatility, we need a true five to help shore up the inside on both ends of the floor."
