Portland, Ore --- A rainy night at Griswold Stadium marked the end of the regular season for the Portland Pilots men and women's track and field teams this evening. Hosted by the Pilots at Lewis and Clark College, it was a solid last performance for a notable season.

Christina Francisco started off the meet for the Pilots, competing in the 400 meter hurdles. Finishing second in her heat, she placed with time of 1:05.17. Dani Castillo, Jack Welch, and Aaron Banobi then took to the track for the 400. Finishing at the top portions of their heats, they had times of 57.67, 49.46, and 52.86, respectively, and both Castillo and Welch clocked PR's.

Welch competed again later in the day, along with Maria Montt, Christina Francisco, Hannah Souders, Mariella Martinez, and Skye Chen-Johnson in the 200 meters. Welch crossed the line at 22.66 and Montt led the women overall with a time of 25.37.

Martinez and Chen-Johnson also competed in the 100 meters, accompanied by Courtney Vacek. With a time of 13.08, Vacek finished at the top of their heat, closely followed by Martinez at 13.50 and Chen-Johnson at 13.55

Lorea Ibarzabal stood out for the Pilots in the 800 meters with a strong performance, finishing in 2:08.50. With Ibarzabal's third place finish overall, Parkes Kendrick and Andrea Theriau were right behind with times of 2:10.55 and 2:17.11.

Chis Enriquez also performed well for the Pilots in the men's 5000. Finishing eighth overall, he clocked in at 14:21.98. Griffin Hay set a new PR in the 5000, posting a time of 14:34.16 to close out his collegiate career.

Off the track, Vacek and Nathan DeVaughn both came in the top of their events. Vacek jumped a distance of 37' 11.50" in triple jump, and DeVaughn had an exceptional day at the pit for the long jump, placing first overall with a distance of 21' 5.25"

With this meet, Portland concludes the regular season, while a handful of Pilots will move on to the NCAA Regionals, which will take place next weekend.
