PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilot men's and women's indoor track and field teams will head back up to Seattle to compete in the UW Invitational this weekend in their second meet of the season. The meet will be held Friday and Saturday in the Dempsey Indoor Facility.
Â
"This is going to be a great opportunity," said men's head coach Rob Conner. "We have had a nice two-week training block to start the season and people are rounding into shape quickly."
The competition will begin on Friday at 1 p.m. and consist of the distance medley relays, 5,000-meter races, 200-meter dashes, the women's weight throw, first flights of pole vault, and 3,000-meters. Saturday's full day opens at 9 a.m., while the top-two sections of all running events from 400-meters up to 3,000-meters will be grouped together starting at 3:15 p.m.
Â
"Lauren LaRocco and Anna Farello will make their season debuts this weekend in the 3000, and Taryn Rawlings will be in the mile," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "All are in great shape and I'm excited to see what they can do."
