SEATTLE, Wash. --- Portland junior Lauren LaRocco and redshirt sophomore Taryn Rawlings each broke school records in their respective events earlier this afternoon in the Dempsey Indoor facility on the final day of the UW Invite. 

LaRocco finished the 3000m in 9:16.66, for an impressive sixth-place finish, setting a new personal record. Teammate Anna Farello also set a new personal record in the 3000m, crossing the line at 9:27.16 for a sixth-place finish. Rawlings ran an exceptional mile, to set a new PR in the mile with a time of 4:45.72.
 
"Lauren, Taryn, and Anna all did a great job with three PRs and two school records on the day," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "I am so excited to see what they do in the next two weeks and beyond."
 
On the men's side three Pilots also set new personal records. Redshirt junior Jeff Thies ran a strong mile finishing 18^th overall in 4:07.73. Redshirt freshman Tristan Peloquin ran an exciting 3000m, finishing 3^rd overall and posting a time of 8:19.28, followed by Joe Horen who clocked a time of 8:28.38.
 
"We feel good about the entire team's efforts," said men's head coach Rob Conner. "We made some nice progress and are in a good spot to run really fast by the end of the indoor season. All systems are go!"
 
The Pilots will next be in action on February 10-11 back in Seattle for the Husky Classic.
