PORTLAND, Ore. --- The No. 15 Portland Pilots received an at-large bid to the 2018 NCAA Men's Soccer Playoffs and will host the UCLA Bruins in a First Round game on Thursday at Merlo Field. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. for the Pilots and Bruins, and tickets go on sale on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Pilots went 11-3-3 on the season and are one of three West Coast Conference teams to qualify, joining No. 5 Saint Mary's and Pacific. This is the Pilots' second NCAA visit in the past three years, and it's the program's 16th playoff berth all-time.

This is UCLA's 45th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins are 73-40 all-time in the postseason, and UCLA has now made it to the NCAA Tournament in 14 of 15 seasons under head coach Jorge Salcedo. The Bruins went 10-8-0 overall this year and were 5-5-0 in the Pac-12.

UCLA is one of four Pac-12 teams to earn a spot in the tournament, joining Stanford, Oregon State, and Washington.

This marks the first meeting between Portland and UCLA since 2003.

The winner of the game between the Pilots and Bruins will travel to No. 3 Kentucky (17-1-1) for a second-round matchup on Sunday. This year's College Cup will be held at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, Calif. on Dec. 7 and 9.
