SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- Redshirt freshman Riley Osen produced a national qualifying time in heat one of the 3000m steeplechase on Friday night at Hornet Stadium. The Pilot recorded a new personal record of 8:44.09, topping his previous time of 8:52.70. Osen jumps up to sixth all-time in the UP record books.
"That was an amazing effort for a freshman running on the biggest stage of his career," said head coach Rob Conner. "Â It was an :08 personal best and he finished strong. Â We are pumped for him!"

The Pilots will be back in action tomorrow in both the men's and women's 1500m quarterfinal races at 6:40 and 6:45, followed by Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse, Michael Teran-Solono, and Lauren LaRocco in the 5000m races at 8:05 and 8:45.
