PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's soccer team is scheduled to play their final home exhibition match tonight when they host the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds at Merlo Field. Kickoff for the friendly is set for 7 p.m.

Portland is coming off a convincing 7-0 win over Corban at home last Sunday. Luke Hendel scored two goals for the Pilots and added an assist, and Rey Ortiz collected two assists, while also scoring a goal. Also scoring for the Pilots were Gio Magana-Rivera, Esteban Calvo and Tristan Weber, and Greg Tracey finished with two assists.

The Pilots have one more exhibition this Saturday in Seattle, which is a 7 p.m. game with the Seattle U Redhawks at Championship Field.

Portland then opens the regular season on Friday, Aug. 24 when they host Sacramento State at Merlo Field. The game is part of a UP soccer double header and will be followed by the women's game against San Jose State. It's also fall orientation weekend, and the always popular Bite on The Bluff will be taking place in the Chiles Center Plaza, which is adjacent to Merlo Field.
