PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots jumped out to an early lead against the Warner Pacific Knights and never looked back en route to a 78-36 non-conference win on Wednesday morning at the Chiles Center. Four players scored in double figures for the Pilots.

Kate Andersen scored 14 points in just 12 minutes for Portland, who improves to 3-0 under first-year head coach Michael Meek. Freshmen Alex Fowler and Keeley Frawley also finished with 14 points, and Lauren Walker added a career-high 11 points off the bench.

The Pilots scored the game's first 17 points, which was fueled by six points from Fowler and five from Andersen, who knocked down a corner three during the run. The lead would stretch to 29-5 when Frawley connected from behind the three-point arc and the rout was on.

It was more of the same in the second quarter as Portland's bench came to life, and the Pilots ended the half on a 14-3 surge. Walker and Shasta Parker hit back-to-back mid-range shots, and Frawley drained a three as time expired, giving the Pilots a 54-16 advantage at the break.

The Pilots largely utilized their bench in the second half as they completed the win.

Most of Portland's shots came from in the paint, but they did hit eight three-pointers and shot 44 percent overall. Andersen was a perfect 6-for-6, Fowler shot 7-for-10, and Walker hit five of nine. Frawley finished with four three-pointers.

The Pilots also won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding Warner Pacific 54-36. Liana Kaitu'u recorded a career-high nine rebounds, and freshman Kelsey Lenzie had a solid all-around game, claiming eight rebounds, eight assists, and six points.

Samantha Morgan led the Knights with 11 points off the bench.

The game was part of Portland's Education Day, and the Pilots welcomed hundreds of local school kids to the Chiles Center.

The Pilots next remain at home to host the Fresno State Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon, with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m.
