PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's soccer team will kick-off its spring season when they host Portland Timbers 2 on Friday night at Merlo Field. The game, which is slated for 7 p.m. at Merlo Field, is one of five exhibitions the Pilots will play on the UP campus this spring.
Â
"We are excited to release our 2019 Spring Schedule," Portland head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt said. "The returning guys have been working hard as we aim for continued growth and player development. The spring is a great time to continue to work on very specific ideas in our game model, while focusing on each player on our roster to reach their full potential.Â
Â
"We have lost some import pieces from our successful campaign," added Carlin-Voigt. "It's always bittersweet to see those guys graduate or turn professional, but it opens up opportunities for new players to step up and make a case to increase their roles in the program as we prepare for a very exciting but challenging 2019 fall schedule."
Â
For spring games at Merlo Field, there will be no admission charged, fans must enter through the main entrance, and seating will only be available in the main grand stands. Concessions will not be available, and restrooms will be open.
Â
For matches on the grass/turf fields on the Franz Campus on the River, fans are asked to park in the main Franz Campus lot (see map), not in the area adjacent to the fields. Restrooms are limited, and standing room viewing is available outside the fences.
