PORTLAND, Ore.---Women's sprinters Maya Murphy-Cook and Tara Fuiten both cracked the Portland all-time records lists again on Saturday, following standout performances in the 200 and 400 meter dashes, respectively, at the Lewis & Clark Invitational Meet. Murphy-Cook's new personal best of 25.16 lands her in fourth-place in program history all by her lonesome in the 200m, as she had tied the previous fourth-place record on Thursday at the Willamette Dual Meet. Fuiten captured a solo win and a new PR of 57.02 in the 400m, good for fifth-place all-time in the event.
Murphy-Cook produced two individual wins on the day, in both the 100 and 200 meter races.
"Maya and Tara were both great today, getting wins and nice PRs!" said women's head coach Ian Solof.
Ella Parker ended the meet with two improvements on past times, finishing in fourth-place overall in the 100 at 12.87, and in fourth-place again in the 200 with a time of 26.13.
Michal Jones and Audrey Lewis each completed the 400 meter run with new PRs, Jones earning fourth place in a time of 59.54, and Lewis coming in just behind in fifth at 59.98.
In the women's 1500m run, it was Ellee Becker coming in first for Portland in 10th place, clocking in at 4:49.36 for a new personal best. Makenna Cowan (4:52.97) and Alexa Hague (4:53.29) each earned new PRs in the race as well.
On the men's side, Justin Hazell and Konnor Hathaway each collected individual victories on the day, with Hazell winning the 1500m run in a PR of 3:52.60, and Hathaway taking the 800m race at 1:54.86.
