• The Pilots are 16-7 on the season after narrowly dropping their last WCC series to the San Francisco Dons.
• The Pilots dropped the first two games by a combined three runs before taking the final game 8-2 to avoid the sweep. In Game 2, the Pilots and Dons went 14 innings, making the game the longest the Pilots have played since 1992.
• Despite the series loss, the Pilots still hold their best record since the 2012 season.
• The Pilots also still got stellar production from their rotation this weekend.
• Brett Gillis pitched six innings with eight strikeouts and only one run and three hits allowed. It's the fifth time in six starts that he's allowed one run or less and the fourth time he's had at least eight strikeouts in a start.
• Gillis's 1.22 ERA is second in the WCC and 20th in the nation. He is also 20th in the nation and fifth in the WCC in strikeouts (51), and ranks fifth in the conference in strikeouts per nine innings.
• Eli Morse also pitched seven innings this past Sunday with only one run and five hits allowed and 10 strikeouts. He improved to 5-0 on the season. This is the first time this year he's hit the double-digit threshold for strikeouts, coming just one short of his career high.
• Morse moved to third all-time for the Pilots in career strikeouts at 242 and is just three shy of moving into a tie for second. He is one of only three WCC pitchers with at least five wins on the year and is also sixth in strikeouts at 44.
