EUGENE, Ore. – Portland men's and women's track and field completed a successful run at the Oregon Relays Saturday at Hayward Field. The Pilots set four individual PR's, while the women's 4x400-meter relay team established a new program record.
Cathal Doyle posted the fourth-best time in program history in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.58. In the same race freshman Matt Strangio posted a new best of 1:51.48.
On the women's side, Laura Pellicoro shaved nearly a full second off of her previous PR in the 400-meter run with a time of 57.77 to move into 10th-place in the UP record books. Ellie Erikson also PR'd in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:34.76.
Pelilcoro then teamed up with Ella Parker, Avery Gill and Tara Fuiten to break the school's 4x4-meter relay record with a time of 3:50.22.
The Pilots will return to the track at next weekend's OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis, Ore.
