PORTLAND, Ore. – Adding to his WCC Player of the Week win yesterday, Portland Pilots men's soccer forward CJ Tibbling was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week. It's the first time he's made the team this season.
Tibbling scored four goals in Portland's dominant 6-0 win over the Utah Tech Trailblazers, three of them coming in the second half. He became the first Pilot to score at least four goals in a game since 1999, when Connor Casey did so against Gonzaga. He is the only men's WCC player to score four goals in a match this year. Tibbling is tied for the WCC lead in goals with five.
Portland begins conference play this week with a stellar 6-0-3 record, the only unbeaten team remaining in the WCC. They are unbeaten through their first nine games for the first time since 2018, and are poised to open conference play against the Saint Mary's Gaels this Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
