PORTLAND, Ore. -- The No. 9 Portland Pilots have matched a program record with 27 straight home games unbeaten after a 5-0 drubbing of the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Portland improved to 10-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in WCC play after the victory.
How it Happened
Portland started the scoring when Sebastian Hernandez scored his third goal of the season in the 17th minute, assisted by Nicholas Denley, the only goal of the first half.
The Pilots went up 2-0 on a goal from Jacob Babalai -- his 11th goal of the season -- in the 50th minute, assisted by Buba Fofanah. Babalai didn't waste much time securing a brace with a 59th-minute goal, his 12th of the season. Hernandez and Denley assisted the goal.
The Pilots kept Gonzaga scoreless and grabbed a 4-0 lead with a 76th-minute goal from Fofanah, his eighth goal of the season. Kevin Bonilla assisted the goal.
Portland increased its lead to 5-0 on Nicholas Dunbar's first goal of the season and of his Pilot career in the 79th minute, assisted by Muslim Umar and Sebastian Nava. Neither team scored again and the game ended 5-0.
