THIS WEEK: BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener
 • The Pilots will begin their 2023-24 Indoor Track Season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University.
 • The Pilots will be racing eight athletes at the meet between the 3,000 meter and 5,000 meter distances.
• The women's 3,000 meter race will begin at 10:55 A.M. while the men's 5,000 will be split between 7 A.M. and 3:25 P.M. All times listed will be in Pacific Standard Time. Â
• Results from the meet will be available at PortlandPilots.com.
LAST MEET: NCAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
 • The Portland Men qualified for their 19th NCAA Championship in 21 years, finishing 23rd overall.
 • Matt Strangio was the top finisher for the Pilots with his 76th place finish.
 • Strangio was followed by Danny Abdala (117th), Jona Bodirsky (124th), Jonas Gertsen (144th) and Teddy Buckley (186th) to finish up Portland's scoring five.
• Nolan Hosbein and Thomas Chaston also competed for the Pilots, recording finishes of 194th and 224th, respectively.
 • Laura Pellicoro was the sole Pilot woman competing at the meet, finishing 41st overall.
LAST SEASON
• The Pilots competed in 20 different meets during the 2022-23 indoor/outdoor track seasons, showcasing a strong group of returners and newcomers.
• The Pilots would qualify a total of three athletes to the NCAA Championships, the most since 2018. This included Matt Strangio in the 5,000 meter, while Laura Pellicoro and Cathal Doyle competed in the 1,500 meter event.
• Laura Pellicoro won the 800 meter and 1,500 meter events at the World University Games in Chengdu, China.
• The all-time list for the outdoor 800 meter saw some movement with Teresa Perez running 2:09.10. Â
• In the women's 1,500 meter, Pellicoro would run a PR of 4:08.52 to break Taryn Rawling's school record. Mathilde Deswaef would also run a No.10 all-time of 4:24.71.
•Pellicoro would break the school record in the women's mile distance, recording a time of 4:32.91 to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
• Courtney Klatt would run the fifth fastest time in school history for the mile, running 4:47.07. Teresa Perez also ran the 10th fastest mile in school history with a time of 4:50.43.
• In the indoor 3,000 meter distance, Pellicoro would also break the school record running a time of 9:03.81.
• Courtney Klatt would also land herself at No. 5 all-time in the 5,000 meter distance with a time of 16:08.68.
• Avery Gill ran the third fastest indoor 400 meter dash in school history with a time of 57.76.
• The men's 400 meter list would also see Moe Ombougno move to No. 7 with a time of 49.27.
• Yutaka Roberts ran the No. 2 all-time mark in the indoor men's 800 with 1:51.54.
• Both Aidan Fitzgerald and Konnor Hathaway would dip below the 1:50 barrier in the outdoor 800 meter with 1:49.90 (No. 5) and 1:49.96 (No. 6), respectively.
• In the men's 1500 meter, Zak Kirk would move to No. 8 All-time, running 3:42.48. Estanis Ruiz also moved to No. 10 with 3:43.01.
• The men's all-time mile list saw Estanis Ruiz move to No. 8 in 4:02.08 and Henry Mong move to No. 10 with a time of 4:02.62.
• Zak Kirk moved to No. 7 all-time in the men's 3,000 meter event with a time of 7:56.13.
• Matt Strangio would break the indoor school record for the 5,000 meter in a finishing time of 13:39.59, while Bradley Peloquin would run the No. 3 all-time mark with 13:45.57 and Zak Kirk in No. 7 with 13:49.55.
• The outdoor 5,000 meter event also saw its all-time list change significantly with Matt Strangio running 13:30.16 for second, Jonas Gertsen with 13:46.36 for sixth and Zak Kirk in 13:47.79 for ninth all-time.
• The men's 3,000 meter steeplechase top-10 list was also attacked by Ahmed Sado who ran the seventh fastest mark in school history with his time of 8:42.18, as well as Estanis Ruiz in No. 8 All-time with 8:42.72.
• Finally, Zak Kirk and Jonas Gertsen would run the No. 9 and No. 10 all-time marks fpr the men's 10,000 meter with 28:43.79 and 28:45.60, respectively.
