MORAGA, Calif. -- Once again, the No. 12 Portland Pilots capitalized on their chances for a 3-0 win over the Saint Mary's Gaels. Portland improved to 11-4-0 overall and 4-2-0 in WCC action following the win.
How it Happened
Portland broke the scoreless tie when Samory Powder recorded his sixth goal of the season in the 44th minute, assisted by Nicholas Dunbar and Diego Rosas. Powder finished a cross from Dunbar and took advantage of the error from Saint Mary's to score.
The scoring slowed unitil late in the second half. The Pilots scored again on a penalty kick from Buba Fofanah -- his ninth goal of the season -- in the 79th minute. Portland went ahead 3-0 on Muslim Umar's 85th-minute goal, his third of the season. Efetobo Aror assisted the goal. Neither team scored again in the match.
