PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots came up just short in their home opener to the No. 23 Washington State Cougars 1-0 on Thursday. Portland's record stands at 1-1-0 following the loss.
How it Happened
Portland kept Washington State scoreless in the first half before giving up the lone goal after the break in the loss. Bridget Rieken had the goal for the Cougars.
Bre Norris led Portland with three saves. The Pilots totaled 19 shots in the loss, nine of them on goal. Portland faced nine Washington State shots, four of them on goal.

	- Portland received one yellow card while Washington State received two.
